A variety of new student orientations for students and their parents will be available at Lone Star College-CyFair in August.
“During orientation, students will meet student leaders, faculty and staff; learn their way around campus and find out about all the student services and academic programs available at LSC-CyFair,” said Christine Timmerman with the Counseling, Career and Disability Services department. “Students will also have a chance to receive academic advising and to register for fall classes.”
Full-day (includes lunch) and mini orientation programs are available this summer.
“The family orientation is designed to provide family members with the tools and information needed to aid in your transition to college life and academic success,” said Timmerman. “This orientation also includes a campus tour, overview of academic expectations and the opportunity to meet administrators and faculty.”
Upcoming student and family orientations are set Aug. 6, Aug. 13, Aug. 14 and Aug. 21.
All the orientation sessions will be held at the Barker Cypress campus at 9191 Barker Cypress Road at West Road. All sessions are free, but space is limited and pre-registration is required.
