MISSION
The Lone Star College–CyFair Tutoring Program cultivates life long learning in an atmosphere that is positive and caring, that supports classroom instruction and overall student success, and that challenges and motivates individuals as they strive for and attain personal and academic growth.
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of our Tutoring Program include:
- Providing qualified tutors for one-on-one and group consultation
- Supporting learning in a positive and caring atmosphere
- Promoting independent learning
- Fostering confidence and self-esteem
- Offering self-paced, computerized, and individualized instruction in a technology rich environment
- Working collaboratively with college faculty and staff to maximize opportunities for student success
- Responding equitably to the needs of all students, regardless of race, gender, age, national origin, color, disability, religion or sexual preference
- Referring students to appropriate support resources.
Tutoring Referral Form
Faculty submit this form to the Tutoring Department, recommending students who need to be encouraged to participate in tutorials and workshops that may help the student academically.
