Lone Star College–CyFair’s Leaning Signature communicates the college’s unique attributes as an education institution. The college's signature distinctively conveys its commitment to providing innovative and creative learning environments which focus on student engagement and student success.
The following are examples of some of the methodologies that are used to complement the Learning Signature:
Learning CommunitiesLearning Communities are two or more courses with a similar theme or idea that can be explored in two or more classes. Students are co-enrolled in all courses that are part of the Learning Community, and receive credit for all courses in the Learning Community.
Service Learning Service Learning courses links curriculum with community service to promote experiential learning. Classes with a service learning designation require civic engagement as an integral part of the learning process.
Distance Learning Distance Learning is a form of instruction where the instructor and student are in physically separate locations. Classes may be delivered online or in the flex course style where instruction takes place both online and in the classroom.
