The Dance Team serves as entertainment for the college and the community. They compete at the National level, and also serve as Ambassadors for the school. Tryouts are held prior to the Fall and Spring Semesters.
Tryouts are Friday, August 8, 2008.
Schedule:
8:00 am- Registration in the Dance Studio located in CENT 118. Please bring a small picture of yourself for the application.
8:30 am-12:00 pm- Learn tryout routine. You may wear anything that you would like.
12:00 pm- Break for lunch
2:00 pm- Tryouts will begin. Please wear all black to the tryouts. You will perform the tryout routine in groups of four. Tryouts will be closed to the public.
The 2008 Lone Star College–CyFair Dance Team will be announced immediately following the tryouts.
The tryout dance will contain the following elements:
Double/Triple Turn, split leap, fouette' turns, barrel leap, and a 2nd position leap.
Qualifications:
Poise, posture, projection, rhythm, flexibility, enthusiasm and a fit body are important qualifications. Applicants will also be judged on the following elements: toe touch, double turn, split leap. If you also have a switch leap, fouette turns, or 2nd position leaps we would like to see those as well, but not necessary.
