Equipment for In-Library Use

The following items may be borrowed with a library card (plus additional information as listed) from the first floor customer service desk:

• headphones
• audiocassette player
• laptop computers-2 hour loan (need photo identification, and be at least 18 years old)

• TI-83 Plus Texas Instruments graphing calculators-2 hour loan

All items must be returned no later than 15 minutes before the library closes, and should not be removed from the building. A replacement fee will be charged for items not returned in addition to other charges listed on a borrower form if used.

Additional office/computer equipment is available for public use at the reference desks or copier rooms:

• staplers
• pencil sharpeners
• hole punchers
• scissors
• scanner

Bat Education Trunk:
The "Bat Education Trunk" can assist educational groups in developing lesson plans that will spark student interest in bat species preservation and conservation. The trunk has been designed for use by anyone interested in learning and teaching groups of all ages. It includes mixed media such as bilingual videos, slides, audio tapes, posters, echolocators, books, flash light with filters, micro-recorder, educational information and pamphlets. The library will loan this educational trunk only to a group, not individuals. The borrower must sign for the trunk and is responsible for all items in the trunk. It may be borrowed for a 2-week loan period with 2 additional loan extensions if requested. To apply for an opportunity to borrow the trunk, please send and e-mail to cfbats@lonestar.edu. Storytime Kits:
Lone Star College–CyFair Branch Library offers storytime kits on themes such as insects, dinosaurs, bears, pigs, cats, and more for checkout by individuals, day care centers, and other groups. Search the library catalog for "grab bags" using the keyword anywhere option to view the assortment of topics. Grab bags include books, a puppet, and a guide with a DVD, audio cassette, or videocassette to help children discover the magical world of words through books. If a kit is checked out already, you can request it with your library card number and PIN and the library will notify you when the kit is returned.
