Are there special requirements for dual credit?
Yes. To enroll in Dual Credit, students must meet these requirements:
- Must be currently attending high school (public, private or home school) classified as a junior or senior
- Have college placement scores on the THEA, ASSET or COMPASS test, or earn exemption with minimum SAT or ACT scores.
- Have approval from parent or guardian and from a high school counselor.
- High school students in the Dual Credit program must complete each college course attempted with a grade of “C” or better in order to continue enrollment in current and future courses.
- Students enrolled in Dual Credit may be ineligible for University Interscholastic League competition. Check with your high school advisor for specific UIL requirements.
- High school students may not enroll in developmental courses.
