Carolina RODRIGUEZ, Part-time Lab Coordinator

Carolina was born in Bogota, the beautiful Colombian capital on August 30, 1985. She has been interested in the arts since she was very young; although she has been part of art clubs and the faculty of arts in the National University in Colombia, she has been mostly self taught. Besides painting, Carolina also enjoys music; she plays the piano and started pursuing a degree in music before migrating to the United States. Soon after she completed her high school studies with an honor award in Literature and English language, she moved to Houston, Texas where she has lived for three and a half years now, in the popular area of the Galleria.

She is part of the tutoring staff at Cy-Fair, where she has been working for about three years as well. She is now completing her bachelor’s in Fine Arts for which she is taking classes at Lone Star College–CyFair. Besides the arts, Carolina enjoys learning foreign languages. She speaks fluent English and Spanish, she learned French in high school and was also Georges Detiveaux's former French student; and, she is currently learning Arabic. Besides work, Carolina or Falak, her Arabic name by which most people know her, likes to spend time with her friends mostly in cafés or while having dinner or attending ballet performances and operas. While not with her friends, she spends time with her two and a half month old and nine month old cousins, and her Turkish angora cat, Angel.
