bio: Joseph "Jeff" Raquel

Joseph "Jeff" RAQUEL, Part-time Lab Coordinator

Jeff was born in Quezon City, Philippines on January 14, 1983. Jeff has been around computers since he was a little. His parents gave him his first computer when he was seven years old. Jeff attended Thames International Business School in the Philippines before he had to move to Los Angeles, CA, where he lived for a year before moving to Houston, TX with his family. Jeff graduated with an Associate’s degree in Science from Lone Star College-North Harris. Currently, Jeff is going to school to pursue a degree in the medical field.

 

Jeff enjoys all types of sports and has pretty much practiced them all. Among all of Jeff’s passions, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is his favorite. He is currently a blue belt and has won numerous tournaments all around Texas. He is planning to be the first Filipino to win the BJJ world champions.

 

When not at work, school or training, Jeff spends his time with his beautiful Peruvian wife, Joya, whom he met while he was working at Lone Star College-North Harris. Jeff’s wife also teaches him Spanish as well as Spanish dances like Salsa and Marinera. Together, they enjoy watching movies, reading books and eating in different kinds of restaurants.
